Terms and Conditions of Business for Extreme Institute by Shock City Studios LLC

1. Introduction

Welcome to Extreme Institute by Shock City Studios (Extreme Institute). These Terms and Conditions govern your enrollment in and use of our courses, workshops, and services. By enrolling and purchasing a membership, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Eligibility

Membership and workshop participation at Extreme Institute is limited to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: All members must be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrollment. This applies to all membership levels and workshops. Extreme Institute reserves the right to verify the age of any member or prospective member and may require proof of age, such as a government-issued ID.

  • Legal Capacity: Members must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. By purchasing a membership, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Extreme Institute, at its sole discretion, may refuse or terminate the membership of any individual who does not meet these eligibility requirements. Providing false information about your age or identity may result in immediate termination of your membership without refund.

3. Membership Levels and Fees

Extreme Institute offers three membership levels with the following features and pricing:

Basic Access Membership

  • Price: $350 per month.

  • Enroll in one workshop at a time.

  • Focused learning on a single subject.

  • Standard enrollment based on workshop capacity.

  • Single school location access.

  • Reschedule workshop or swap workshops once per month with 7 days’ written notice.

Access Plus Membership

  • Price: $450 per month.

  • Enroll in multiple workshops for only and additional $200 per workshop per month.

  • Explore multiple subjects simultaneously.

  • Access to all Extreme Institute locations.

  • Priority enrollment for popular workshops.

  • Access to exclusive workshops.

  • Academic advisor access.

  • Reschedule or swap joined workshops once per month per workshop.

$50 annual sign-up free. Membership fees are paid monthly in advance via recurring credit card payments. You authorize Extreme Institute to automatically charge your credit card on file each month during your membership term.

4. Payment Terms

By providing your credit card information, you authorize Extreme Institute to charge the applicable membership fees to your card each month. It is your responsibility to ensure the card on file remains valid and has sufficient funds. A $35 fee will be assessed for any declined payments.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your membership at any time with 14 days written notice prior to your next billing date. No refunds will be provided for the current month. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the workshops and materials through the end of the billing period.

Extreme Institute reserves the right to cancel specific workshops or modify schedules as needed. If a workshop you are enrolled in is canceled, you will have the option to select an alternate workshop or receive a prorated refund for that portion of your membership fee.

6. Code of Conduct

All members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful environment at Extreme Institute. This includes:

  • Treating staff, instructors, and fellow members with courtesy and respect.

  • Refraining from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior.

  • Using Extreme Institute facilities and equipment responsibly and as directed.

  • Following all safety guidelines and instructor instructions during workshops.

Failure to adhere to this code of conduct may result in consequences such as verbal warnings, membership suspension, or termination without refund, at the sole discretion of Extreme Institute.

7. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

All workshop materials, techniques, and curriculum are the proprietary intellectual property of Extreme Institute. As a member, you are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use these materials for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You agree to respect the confidentiality of any ideas, works-in-progress, or other sensitive information shared by fellow members during workshops. Sharing, reproducing, or distributing such content without express permission is strictly prohibited.

If you wish to use Extreme Institute branding or affiliate yourself with the organization in your own marketing efforts, you must obtain prior written approval from our management team.

8. Privacy Policy

Extreme Institute collects personal information such as your name, contact details, and payment information during the enrollment process. We may also collect additional information related to your workshop participation and progress.

This information is used for communication, workshop planning, marketing, and other internal purposes. We do not sell your personal data to third parties but may share it with trusted service providers such as payment processors or email platforms.

We take reasonable measures to protect the security of your personal information, but no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You may opt-out of certain uses of your personal data, such as marketing communications, by contacting office@extreme-institute.com. You may also request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal retention requirements.

By enrolling with Extreme Institute, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.


9. Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk

Extreme Institute strives to provide high quality workshops and learning experiences, but makes no guarantees as to the accuracy, completeness, or results of its services. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to your membership or workshop participation.

Media arts activities may involve physical exertion, use of specialized equipment, or exposure to potentially hazardous materials. By participating in our workshops, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with these activities, including the risk of injury or property damage.

You hereby release Extreme Institute, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims of ordinary negligence, personal injury, or property damage arising from your workshop participation. This does not apply to gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Extreme Institute is not responsible for any personal property that is lost, damaged, or stolen while on the premises. You are solely responsible for securing your own belongings.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration in St. Louis, Missouri.

11. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, along with any additional policies or agreements incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Extreme Institute regarding your membership and workshop participation. Any modifications to these terms will be posted on our website and communicated to members in writing.

Extreme Institute reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will provide written notice of any significant changes. Your continued membership after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
